FAQ

Questions about Wompfel.

Everything you should know before adopting — from suitability to one-offs to shipping.

Toy notice

No. Wompfel are collectible figures, made in Germany and finished by hand. They are not toys and not suitable for children under 15. They belong on shelves, desks and in display cabinets.
Wompfel can have small, delicate or fine parts and are designed as collectibles, not as robust toys. This classification protects both the creatures and their collectors.

One-offs

No — and that is the more honest answer. A character like Mork or Drok stays orderable permanently. Your figure is made after your order in the size you chose and is finished by hand individually. Small differences arise in the process, which is why no two figures are exactly alike. That is not a numbered limited edition, though.
The ranks describe a character's role in the world of Wompfel — not its availability and not its size. Every Wompfel can be ordered in all ten sizes: a Pocket Wompfel is available as a 20 cm figure too.
No. All ten sizes from 3 to 20 cm are made to order. Large figures need more material and considerably more production time — that is where the price difference comes from, not from a limit on quantity.
Visible structures, slight irregularities and crooked details are part of the character and not a defect. That is exactly what makes every Wompfel genuine.
The Wompfel ID identifies the character, not the individual figure: the format is category-year-number, for example HW-2026-001 for Mork. All sizes of the same character carry the same ID. There is currently no consecutive number per figure produced.

Adoption

We speak of adoption because a Wompfel is a character, not an anonymous article. Legally, the checkout is an ordinary purchase.
Yes. Every Wompfel is made to order in the size you chose — your figure only comes into being when you adopt it. That is why every creature stays available permanently. But finished by hand also means: no two are exactly alike, and yours is still only yours.
Yes. Every Wompfel travels with a certificate: name, Wompfel ID, category, year and details of how it was made.

Shipping

Carefully cushioned, every Wompfel travels with its certificate. Each piece is made after your order; within Germany, delivery usually takes 9–13 working days, at the latest 30 days (see Terms § 5).
That depends on the delivery country and size: within Germany €4.19 (figures up to 8 cm) or €5.19 (9–15 cm), to other EU countries €10.49, to Switzerland and the United Kingdom €15.49 per shipment. Shipments containing a 20 cm figure travel as a tracked parcel (Germany €6.19, EU €14.49, Switzerland and United Kingdom €19.49). The exact amount is shown at checkout before you pay. Details are in the Terms.
