Steck-Wompfel

Colour in. Cut out. Slot together.

Three sheets of paper become Mork – the first Wompfel, with glass eyes, a snout, pointed ears and arms. No glue, no tape: every piece has an arrow that goes into a slit with the same number. In the end Mork sits on the table and stares.

How it works

One connection. Seven numbers.

There is only one way to join pieces: arrow through slit. The head is wider than the slit – push it through once and it springs open and holds. Find the matching number and you know where a piece belongs.

Step 1

Colour in

Mork is grey-blue with pale, flaking spots; inner ears, snout, arms and feet are pink. Or something completely different – it’s your Mork.

Step 2

Cut out

Along all the thick lines. The arrows are part of each piece. An adult cuts the red slits with a craft knife – or folds the paper and snips in with scissors.

Step 3

Slot together

Close the tube, set it on the base, fold the head plate back and slot it in at the back. Then add ears, snout, feet and arms. The instructions are on page 3.

What’s on it

Two sheets. Nine pieces.

Sheet 1: body with face, spots and head plate
Sheet 1 – body with face and head plate
Sheet 2: base, two arms, two ears, two feet and snout
Sheet 2 – base, arms, ears, feet and snout
The craft sheet

Three pages. One pair of scissors. One Mork.

Print it now

Free, no sign-up. A4 landscape – be sure to print at “Actual size / 100 %”, otherwise arrows and slits won’t fit.

  • Sheet 1: body with face and head plate
  • Sheet 2: base, arms, ears, feet, snout
  • Page 3: instructions in ten steps

What else you need

You don’t need to buy any of it.

  • Thicker paper, 160–200 g/m² – normal printer paper is too soft, the arrows slip out
  • A pair of scissors and coloured pencils
  • A craft knife for the slits – adults only
  • No glue, no tape
The original

Mork also exists for real.

The craft sheet is paper to play with. The Wompfel in the shop are something else: collector figures, made in Germany and hand-finished – not toys, not for children under 15.

The three questions people actually ask

What does it cost?

Nothing. No account, no sign-up, no email address. The craft sheet is a PDF you download and keep.

Does it really hold without glue?

Yes, on thick paper. Every arrow has a wide head that springs open behind the slit. On thin printer paper the arrows are too soft – use 160 g or more.

From what age?

From age 5, with a little help cutting out. From about 8, kids can mostly do it on their own. An adult always cuts the slits.
